How to check an online casino licence in the register, step by step

The tests · Curaçao and Anjouan, with screenshots

Checking a licence takes two minutes and is the easiest test of the five. It is also the one almost nobody runs: casino lists repeat «licensed in Curaçao» without saying where to look. Here is where, how and which facts to compare.

The licence is the first of the five tests in our register of trusted online casinos in Chile, and the only one any player can run without reading terms in English. All thirteen casinos in the register hold a licence from Curaçao (nine) or Anjouan (four). This guide covers both.

Before you search: three facts you need

  1. The exact domain. Copy it from the address bar while you are on the casino site, without https and without www. Do not type it from memory: one letter different is another site.
  2. The licence it declares. Usually in the footer: the jurisdiction (Curaçao, Anjouan) and sometimes the number.
  3. The holding company. It appears in the opening lines of the terms: «this site is operated by…». You will compare it with the one on the certificate.

Curaçao: cert.cga.cw

The Curaçao Gaming Authority publishes its licensees' certificates at cert.cga.cw. The search box asks for the domain or the company, not for the licence number.

The Curaçao Gaming Authority certificate search at cert.cga.cw
The search box at cert.cga.cw asks for the domain or the company, not for the licence number. Type the domain exactly as it stands in the address bar, without https and without www.

Step by step:

  1. Go to cert.cga.cw.
  2. Type the casino's exact domain and search.
  3. Open the certificate that comes back.
  4. Compare the domain on the certificate with the one in your address bar.
  5. Compare the holding company with the one in the casino's terms.
  6. Look at the status: it has to read Active.
Curaçao Gaming Authority certificate for betfury.io showing the status Active
betfury.io: Universe B Games B.V., licence OGL/2024/1494/0942, granted on 31.07.2025 and active on 18.09.2026. The domain in your address bar and the domain on the certificate are the same one.

A certificate in order says, in a single sentence, that this domain is operated by this company, with this company number, under this licence, granted on this date, and that its current status is Active. If any of those facts does not match what you see at the casino, something is wrong.

What you will not see: an expiry date. Curaçao certificates say whether the licence is active today. That is why every certificate in our register carries the date we read it: 18.09.2026.

Anjouan: the public licence register

Anjouan, one of the islands of the Union of the Comoros, issues online gambling licences that run for a year. Its public register shows the company, the status, the licence number, the type, the issue date, the expiry date and the domains covered.

The public Anjouan register filtered by Rakebit, showing a valid licence
The Anjouan register does carry an expiry date. Rakebit: Nile King Media Ltd, ALSI-202602030-FI2, valid until 17.02.2027.

Step by step:

  1. Open the public Anjouan licence register.
  2. Filter by the casino's name or by its domain.
  3. Check that the exact domain appears in the domains column.
  4. Look at the status (valid) and the expiry date.
  5. If the expiry date has passed and there is no new row, the licence is not in force.

The search trap: the filter matches on partial text. Search for a short word and it can return domains that contain it and are not the casino you are after. Compare the full domain, letter by letter.

What the register says about each casino

These are the facts we copied from the register on 18.09.2026 for the thirteen casinos:

And these are the four Anjouan licences sorted by expiry date. One of them is days away:

When something does not match

  • The certificate names a different domain. It may be another domain of the same brand (Vave: the certificate names vavegame.com, not vave.com) or it may be a copied site. Check whether the holding company matches the one in the terms; if it does not, do not deposit.
  • The holding company is different. Some groups run several casinos through different companies. If the company on the certificate appears nowhere in the terms, the connection is not demonstrated.
  • The status does not read Active or valid. There is no middle ground: the licence is not in force.
  • The casino does not appear at all. Try the company instead of the domain. If that fails too, treat it as a casino with no verifiable licence.

What a licence in force does not guarantee

An active licence means the casino is registered with an authority and that you know which company to complain about. It does not say when you will be asked for documents, how much you may withdraw or whether players from Chile are accepted. That is in the terms, and it is what the other four tests in how to tell if a casino is trustworthy measure.

If the register left you with doubts, the warning signs help you decide quickly whether to go on.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I check a Curaçao licence?
At cert.cga.cw, the certificate portal of the Curaçao Gaming Authority. You search by domain or by holding company. The certificate shows the domain, the holder, the company number, the licence number, the date granted and the status.
What do I do if the casino is not in the register?
Try the domain without www, then the name of the company given in the casino's terms. If it still does not appear, or appears as not active, treat it as a casino with no licence in force and do not deposit.
Is the licence seal in the footer any use?
Only if clicking it takes you to the certificate on the official portal and that certificate names the same domain. A seal that is only an image, or that leads to a page on the casino's own site, proves nothing.
